You may have noticed an increase in your monthly telephone bill. This is due to a recent increase in the fee that is charged to each bill to support the functions of the Universal Service Fund (USF). The USF fee is mandated by the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) and helps keep telephone service rates affordable for communities in rural areas of the United States and also subsidizes service to schools, libraries and health care providers. Customers should be aware several different phishing and spoof emails have recently been received by customers of Northland Communications which instruct them to click on links to update their account or asking customers to reply to emails with personal information.

Northland Communications will never contact you via e-mail to request you update your account, to ask you to provide personal information, or ask for your pin numbers.

If you believe you have received a fraudulent email of this nature:
1. DO NOT reply, respond, or click on links contained inside the email.
2. Please forward the email to your local account representative.
3. Immediately delete the email.
